Telecommunications

Dominica has a very contemporary and efficient telecommunications system. The city and in many communities, a public phone is easy to find. Hotels offer International Direct Dialing and internet services from their rooms. There are three major mobile service providers on the island: LIME (formerly Cable & Wireless), Digicel, and Orange Caraibe. The island's area code is 767.

Electricity

Dominica’s electricity is provided by Dominica Electricity Services Ltd (DOMLEC). It uses 220/240 volts. American appliances are quite popular, but their users utilize transformers for voltage conversion. Many accommodations offer both outlets, but it would be wise to receive confirmation from the specific establishment.

Water

In a country where there are 365 rivers, one river for every day of the year, water is in absolute abundance. In Dominica almost 100 per cent of the population has access to drinking water supply through house connections. The Dominica Water and Sewage Company (DOWASCO), is responsible for maintaining and developing the waterworks and providing a safe, adequate and reliable water supply, and for water conservation.
